Radon Testing Services
Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that can enter a home from the soil beneath it. It cannot be seen, smelled, or tasted. The only way to know whether elevated radon levels are present is to test.
WHY IT MATTERS
Why Radon Is a Concern
Long-term exposure to elevated radon levels can increase the risk of lung cancer. Because radon is invisible and odorless, a home can have elevated levels without any visible warning signs.

Radon in Michigan & Wisconsin
Elevated radon levels have been found throughout Michigan and Wisconsin, including areas of Upper Michigan and Northeast Wisconsin. Radon levels can vary from one home to the next. OUR PROCESS
How Our Radon Testing Works
PRO-TEC uses continuous radon monitors to measure radon levels inside the home. The monitor remains in the home for a minimum of 48 hours while recording radon levels throughout the testing period. In some situations, the test period may be extended due to access, scheduling, or testing conditions. After the testing period is complete, the data is downloaded and reviewed.

GOOD TO KNOW
What to Expect with Radon Testing
Radon Testing During Real Estate Transactions
Radon testing is one of the most common environmental tests requested during a home purchase. Testing during the inspection period allows buyers and sellers to address potential concerns before closing. Radon testing can usually be scheduled along with the home inspection.
Post-Mitigation Testing
PRO-TEC performs radon testing only. We do not install mitigation systems. If elevated levels are found, we can provide referrals to local mitigation contractors when needed. Independent post-mitigation testing is also available.
Local Experience Matters
Homes throughout Upper Michigan and Northeast Wisconsin can experience elevated radon levels, including older homes, newer homes, homes with basements, and homes with crawlspaces. PRO-TEC has inspected homes throughout the region for decades. Our experience with local construction, basements, crawlspaces, and foundation systems helps us understand the conditions commonly found in area homes. We serve Menominee, Marinette, Escanaba, Iron Mountain, Green Bay, Oconto, and surrounding communities throughout Upper Michigan and Northeast Wisconsin.
